On Friday the Ninth of January, the FIRST Robotics Competition kicked off this year’s game event. Hosted at the University of Minnesota’s Northrop Auditorium, Team 2220 helped hand out the kit of parts to the 110 teams attending the kickoff event. For the next six weeks, teams spanning the width and breadth of the country will construct a robot to compete in this year’s game. The game- Breakaway- involves bumps, soccer balls and towers, and is looking to be an exciting challenge this year. Robots will have to meet very specific size and weight requirements to ensure the ‘bot doesn’t flip as it goes over the bumps and make it through the passages.
Lots of communication between the alliance members is going to be required to make sure things run smoothly.
Here’s looking forward to another year! Team 2220 |
