The last few meetings have been a little slow but things are starting to pick up here in Team 2220.

After the kickoff, our team hosted a massive strategy meeting with the Apple Valley High School team, the Eastview High School team and the Henry Sibley High School team. The inquisitive minds of students and mentors brainstormed possible strategies for playing Breakaway.

At the next team meeting, all the compiled strategies were looked over and the impossible were stricken from the list. The team then separated into small groups to work on more detailed strategies and later presented their ideas to the team.

The following meeting, we held a vote for all team members and mentors on what strategies the team would use to compete in the various aspects of the game. In the end Team 2220 has decided on a pneumatic Kicker, a winch for the Lifter and bars for the Picker Upper.

(For a more detailed understanding of our decision, please view the video of this year’s game Breakaway.)

For all you parents out there, YOUR KIDS!:

Max is currently having fun setting up the control system for the robot; working with software and licenses and java so the system can run smoothly.

Gunner is busy, busy, busy collecting material to build the field for us and other teams to practice on.

Shaun is working on the chassis, figuring out dimensions and materials.

Louis is working his brains to figure out how to lift our robot onto the tower, possibly with a telescope.

Look back for more blog’s!
