PostHeaderIcon PTC/FIRST Scholarship Winner!

I am very pleased to announce that 2220 has its first FIRST scholarship winner!  Max Veit has won the PTC/FIRST Scholarship.  He was awarded a renewable $5000.00 scholarship to attend the University of Minnesota.  Congratulations Max!  I am hoping this is the first of many scholarships that members of 2220 will win in the years to come.

PostHeaderIcon Safety Reminder

Last night, while working on our robot, one of our mentors got his hand caught in some of the moving parts.  It broke his thumb and cut his hand pretty deep.

It is not my intention to gross you out by telling you this, but rather to have it serve as a reminder to our team and others that safety is a priority.  Accidents do happen, but it is a responsibility of all of us to make sure that we are aware of the risks and the appropriate safety measures that are put in place to help us avoid them.

For reference, here is a link to the FIRST Robotics Competition Team Safety Manual.  It has a lot of useful information in it, and is important reading for all FRC participants.

We hope all of you have a safe and fun season, and look forward to seeing everyone this weekend at our FRC Practice Event!
