Oh no! A caucus!

This week has been crazy with setbacks and problems, but have no fear, Team 2220 is never deterred!

The first big bummer was when Team 2220 was unable to meet on Tuesday February 2nd due to a caucus being held at the high school. But this delay was nothing!

The following Thursday, the build teams started the huge task of getting some of the different parts together. Through CADD, the sub-teams had been working carefully to ensure that all the parts being built would integrate properly when the time came.

The second big bummer was also on Thursday when the school’s Internet dropped, leaving the business and web teams unable to work.

The combination spurred the planning of a second Build-a-thon scheduled for Saturday February 6th. Also scheduled for that Saturday is a tour given by the business team for interested parents. It‘s a chance for curious parents to see what’s been taking up their child’s time.

Look forward to our results!

Welcome, everyone!

On Saturday, January 30th, Team 2220 kicked off a huge Build-a-thon! From 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., a few members of the team made use of the school’s workshops and graphics lab to really crank it up.

The rest of the team came in at 1 p.m. and worked until 5 p.m. Dinner was kindly provided by parents and much junk food was consumed. Thank you parents!

The Construction sub-team finished building the goals for the field. Only a few more things need to get done, and then the field should be ready for the mini-regional.

The Kicker sub-team used their design to start building their kicker. Long hours were spent putting CADD designs into practice as the group figured out what it took to get the piston to work.

Keep sending us good thoughts!

Team 2220

Welcome Viewers!

The week has been going well so far. Thursday the 21st of January, team members Madison Weldon, Cooper McKinnon and mentor Jenny Flipi, donated time to participate in a science fair at Hidden Valley Elementary School.

On display was a robotic arm that kids could control to pick up candy off a moving beltway. It was huge success, and once more we prove that science is fun and super cool!
